WP1: All healthcare providers as well as the world around us have been in a seldom seen transformation with its challenges and opportunities. These and the impact have been the focus of Management of the Project in times of a pandemic outbreak.
WP2: During the first term of 2020 we presented the Platform for Innovation of Procurement and Procurement of Innovation in front of several stakeholders in 5 sites (BCN, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Wien and Milan). During a morning of work together we explained the project and we started the co-creation phase of the platform. Future stakeholder interactions are being prepared to continue the co-creation phases in a near future.
WP3: Identified a common a first version of a framework for a cross-border CoP based on experiences and best practices from the PIPPI members. A first version of the cross-border CoP is ready to be tested and evaluated with real world digital challenges.
WP4: PIPPI Platform system requirements elicitation. More specifically, the analysis and definition of the PIPPI system and user requirements through, to be served in the implementation of the platform. The process of requirements elicitation was performed in a collaborative manner through team meetings, on the results of other Work Package tasks, and on the results of the workshops and focus groups conducted by all the partners. Elicited requirements are validated by the internal and external stakeholders. Then the team initiated the process of selecting developers by investigating and contacting the potential ones.
WP5: Compiled and analysed a long list of digital challenges from all PIPPI partners, yielding 2-3 prioritized challenges on which input will be sought from external stakeholders. AQuAS is also working in the identification of a set of challenge-neutral outputs, outcomes, indicators elements thanks to the review of grey literature and peer reviewed reports, pre-commercial procurements and public procurements of innovation tender documents and two round surveys aimed to define the CARE of each of the elements of the set (Clearness, Availability, Relevance and Exemplarity). Such challenge-neutral set will then be used by PIPPI Community of Practice members when prioritizing the challenges or defining the unmet needs addressing specific challenges.
WP6: Last July, we re-started the work on the preparation of the business and operating model by doing interviews. Late September we did a couple of virtual workshops to analyse the pains and gains of the platform with a group of stakeholders. Further work and stakeholder interaction in the next month will help to define and validate our business and operating model.
WP7: Developed a new communication plan in response to the pandemic situation. Working on updated materials and means; planning new project events to support development of the CoP.
King's has been actively participating in supporting the PIPPI project and its workstreams. In the past year we have hosted the PIPPI delegates for our face-to-face meeting in London and ensure we are sighted on all WPs ahead of our production of the white paper in 2021.
AQuAS is performing an horizon scanning exercise to identify cross-border Community of Practice, best practices based on experiences from stakeholders that will harness, leverage, and scale existing knowledge and a shared set of tools and practices for the common benefit of healthcare providers, industry, and policymakers. This activity includes a survey distributed to both PIPPI partners and external stakeholders and a set of interviews to relevant identified experts. At the same time
HUS created in 2019 an "Industry Forum", which meets regularly 4-6 times a year and discusses relevant topics of joint interest. Topics have included innovative procurement, Covid-19 and (upcoming) collaborations (HUS + Industry) in Research and Innovation.
HUS started a project to develop a systemic working method for Research Panel activity where patients are involved (compare EUPATI).
